What many salespersons do to improve sales is to lower the price or give a promotional gift with the product. These approaches are technical and customers are used to them, so usually the response is minimal. The question is whether there are more effective methods.
The reality is that there are super effective methods to improve sales that do not involve investing more in a product's presentation than you already have. You have to rely on psychology.
There are many psychological techniques used in NLP and conversational hypnosis that allow you to improve sales easily, quickly and effectively. In order to use them, you need a little bit of training and guidance only.
I will start by introducing some fundamental tricks from NLP and covert hypnosis that you can readily use to boost your selling performance.
1) Pace and lead to embed a belief in a prospect customer.
This trick is really simple and literally works like magic. Your task is to create a setting in the prospect customer's mind that will make him willing to accept your subliminal suggestion.
The setting has to do with the prospect enjoying your product. It is important for you to focus on the sensation the product brings. Then the natural suggestion would be to buy the product.
I'll illustrate this method to improve sales with an example, so that you can get a feel of it. Let's say that you are trying to sell a fur coat.
When the prospect puts it on, you can readily say, "You see yourself elegant and radiant in that coat. You are feeling warm and cozy inside this soft cocoon. Would you like to feel that every day?"
With the first two sentences you have created the right belief in the prospect's mind. They have triggered her imagination and she has answered "yes", when you have told her these things. In turn, she is ready to answer "yes" to your question, which is directly inviting her to buy the coat.
2) Use open loops to present your product and influence the prospect psychologically.
Opening loops is a typical NLP persuasion approach that will allow you to improve sales effectively. It is quite simple to use, but it brings extremely effective results.
To open a loop is, to put it simply, to make someone hooked to your presentation and to your product. You do this by building anticipation.
The first step towards using this approach is to identify the needs of the prospect. This is fundamental for the NLP sales process.
The next step is to open the loop or set the anticipation frame. The best way to do it is to tell a short story in order to make the prospect anticipate getting needs he has identified satisfied.
In order to make the story realistic, you can readily make up a story with a previous customer.
For instance, if the prospect is looking for a software program for construction management and he wants it to be easy to integrate, you can readily tell a story of a customer that has achieved this with your product.
You can start by sharing the problems of the customer and his needs so that you can build tension before presenting the solution and closing the loop.
This approach is effective because you make the prospect's needs and wants satisfied in his mind. Then he would naturally want to get the product. In turn, you will improve sales.
3) Trigger an emotion to close the sale.
This method, used in both NLP and covert hypnosis, is guaranteed to help you improve sales. Since we make decisions and take action based on emotion, all you have to do is to light the spark.
The best way to do this is associate the product and its use with a pleasant emotion using a metaphor. For instance, you can readily say to a customer, "Does this product make you feel happy like a small child riding on a carousel?"
The person automatically gets that happy emotion. He is feeling free and satisfied. In turn, he associates your product with the emotion. The end result is that he is more likely to buy it.
You should definitely use all of these NLP and covert hypnosis tricks to improve sales. You can be even more successful, if you keep learning more psychological methods for persuasion.
